CW3 Jason LaCrosse

CW3 (R) Jason LaCrosse illustrious Army career spanned 21 years. Jason served in almost every facet of the DUSTOFF mission, initially as a flight medic standardization instructor, and then as an instructor and standardization pilot. Jason deployed three times to Afghanistan, once to Iraq, and once to Albania during the Kosovo air campaign. Throughout his career Jason displayed a tenacious dedication to the to the wounded whom he rescued while flying 424 MEDEVAC missions, treating and evacuating over 500 patients in four separate combat tours. Jason’s defining moment came on 2 April 2010. While serving as the Air Mission Commander, he led his DUSTOFF helicopters repeatedly into a contested landing zone to rescue German Soldiers. The heroic actions of Jason and his crew quickly resonated throughout Germany, solidifying the DUSTOFF legacy with our NATO partners. Jason’s most notable awards include the Legion of Merit, Silver Star, The German Gold Cross of Honor, the DUSTOFF Association “Rescue of the Year”, DUSTOFF Association “Aviator of the Year”, and the Army Aviation Association “Pilot of the Year”. CW3 Jason LaCrosse was inducted into the DUSTOFF Hall of Fame on 1 May 2025.
