COL William Scott “Scooter” Drennon’s distinguished 30-year career is marked by enduring contributions to MEDEVAC doctrine, leadership, training, and specifically to combat operations while serving six command assignments and four combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of The Global War on Terror (GWOT). As commander of the 507th Medical Company (AA) during OIF-1 in support of the 3ID (M), his unit was awarded the prestigious Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) for their exemplary gallantry, valor, and esprit de corps in combat during the invasion of Iraq, defeat of the Iraqi Army and capture of Baghdad.
