Robert Adam Carr

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Adam “Bob” Carr, 82, of Waynesboro formally of Maryland, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Texas on February 27, 1933, a son of the late Edward and Edith Carr. Bob proudly served his beloved country during the Vietnam and Korean War as a DUSTOFF helicopter pilot in the United States Army. He received his masters from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post in Millington, Maryland. In his retirement, Bob greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, shopping for antique furniture and art. He was a humble man with great love for his country and his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Carr of Crumpton, Maryland. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Avis Carr; two sons, Christopher Carr and wife, Teresa of Texas, and Clark Carr and wife, Brandelle of Virginia; two daughters, Melissa Glassman and husband, Jeramiah of Virginia and Melanie Sullivan of South Carolina; brother, Edward Carr Jr. and wife of Texas; Mary Lou Weid and husband, Bob of Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Bob’s wishes were to be cremated and buried in Maryland.
