Charles D. “Chuck” Schenck

Charles Schenck passed away on Sunday, 2 Sep 18 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey. He was 76. He was born in Norristown, PA; the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (nee Marlin) Schenck.

Charles D. Schenck served his country for 52 years. 20 years on active duty in the Army as a helicopter pilot, with two tours in Vietnam saving many lives flying as a DUSTOFF medevac pilot. He was a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran, having received the Silver Star and many other medals and accommodations. He earned his Master Degree from the University of Southern California in International Relations. He retired honorably from active duty in 1982 and then started his second career in Civil Service as a Safety Manager, serving 14 years in Germany at various bases and the last 18 years with the 99th Regional Support Command at Ft Dix, NJ. Upon his second retirement he was presented and honored with the Superior Civilian Service Award in 2014.
