Brenton Dan Witherspoon

Sad news…the passing of a DUSTOFF Legend.

Brenton Dan Witherspoon, affectionately known by his 159th crewmates as “Spoon”, passed away Saturday in Owensboro, KY after a long illness. “Spoon” was responsible for saving hundreds of wounded US, ARVN, Allied and civilians. He was courageous beyond belief, and was awarded a Bronze Star, Soldier’s Medal, ARCOM, 3 Air Medals with V, 35 Air Medals for flight, and 3 Purple Hearts, and a Silver Star. His service is Thursday the 6th in Blackford, KY with full honors by the US Army from Ft. Campbell. Several of his crewmates will be in attendance to honor his service and his memory. Rest in Peace Brother…
