Age 78 took his final flight on May 13, 2023, at home in Puyallup, Washington surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born on January 14, 1945, in Milwaukee. His father, Roger Hoering passed away when Ken was a year old. At the age of 2 his mother Geraldine married James Hogan who then became his father.

Ken is survived by his wife Myong who was lovingly by his side for 42 years. He is further survived by siblings James (Suzanne) Hogan, Maureen Hogan, John (Patricia) Hogan and Patricia (James) Kempinski. Ken will be missed by his children Patrick (Lori) Hogan, Colleen (Troy) Hausser Erin Hogan Helmink, and Kathleen Hogan. Ken was predeceased by his son Michael Hogan (Laura) and daughter Jennifer Hogan. He loved his grandchildren Sean & Meaghan Hogan, Jack & Molly Hogan, Luke Hausser, and Abby & Elise Helmink. He will also be missed by aunts, many nieces and nephews, cousins, Army buddies, and other relatives and friends.

In 1967 Ken graduated from St Norbert’s college with a degree in Biology and he later went on to earn a masters degree from Weber State. Ken proudly served his country as an active duty Army officer for 24 years, retiring at the rank of Lt.Col. Ken served a 1 year combat tour in Vietnam as a MedEvac helicopter pilot with the 571st Dust Off. He flew over 900 combat missions, evacuated over 2,000 U.S. troops and throughout his career he earned many decorations, medals, and citations. After retirement he worked for the state of Washington.

Services will be Monday, May 22 at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 Calhoun Rd, Brookfield Wisconsin. Visitation is from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM and the Funeral Service with full military honors is scheduled for 12:00 PM. 

Burial will be private for immediate family only.
