Freddie Jim Mills

Colonel (Ret) Freddie Jim Mills age 91 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Aimee Jones Mills; his wife, Wanda; and daughter, Karen. Col Fred is survived by 3 children: daughter, Donna Mills Morgan (Perry) of Mabelvale AR, LTC Freddie J Mills, Jr. (Jennifer) of Huntsville, Al, and son, Robert of Lawrenceville, GA; 4 grandchildren, Tamara McNeice (Chris) of Mabelvale, AR, PJ Morgan (Janna) of Benton, AR, Katherine Holt of Bauxite, AR, Sydney Mills Vincent (Jeffery) also of Bauxite, AR; and 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Christian, Aiden, Madilyn, Mason and Alexander. He is also survived by his brother, Don (Barbara) Mills; and sister, Margaret Ann McDaniel.

A Hot Springs, Arkansas native, he served his country for 38 years as an Army Medivac Helicopter pilot. His tour of duty took him to many foreign countries delivering humanitarian and medical aid, in times of crises, to those in need. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Fred was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, in Lilburn, GA.

The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Colonel (Ret) Freddie Jim Mills will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 12:30 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery, North Little Rock, AR.
