DUSTOFF Memorial Monuments Honor KIAs

At long last, a fitting tribute to our brothers and sisters who died in the conduct of a medical evacuation mission has been accomplished. These images depict the setting and close-ups of all the five granite monuments installed at the AMEDD Museum on Fort Sam Houston. They are located in the pergola that houses a UH-1, an OH-13, and an OH-23 aircraft. The official dedication ceremony was held on Saturday February 18th at 1400 hours during the DUSTOFF Annual Reunion. At that ceremony Gold Star Families representing MAJ Charles Kelly and Major Trevor Joseph (our first and most recent KIA crewmembers) were in attendance. Our prayer is that no more names will need to be added. Lest we forget – these monuments speak to their sacrificial service.
