1st Lt. Strader was on Medevac standby in a Black Hawk helicopter at the Ramstein airshow when three Italian Jets collided in mid-air.  One of those Jets then crashed into his parked helicopter.  He was fatally injured and died three weeks later. He was posthumously promoted to Captain.
